369: Offence to make false or misleading statement

369Offence to make false or misleading statement

  1. A person must not, in any communication, application, or document that is required to be made or given under this Act or by the regulations,—

  2. knowingly make a written or oral statement that is false or misleading in a material particular; or
    1. knowingly make a material omission.
      1. A person who fails to comply with subsection (1)—

      2. commits an offence; and
        1. is liable on conviction,—
          1. in the case of an individual, to a fine not exceeding $20,000:
            1. in the case of a body corporate, to a fine not exceeding $60,000.
