The Minister can choose to recognise standards from overseas organisations or certification schemes. You can think of standards like rules that help keep people safe. The Minister can recognise these standards in whole or in part. The Minister will only recognise these standards if they meet certain criteria, which are like a set of rules that the standards must follow. The Minister can also change or cancel their recognition of these standards at any time by giving notice.
