You can get a product certificate for a building product or method if it meets certain criteria. You must apply to a registered Product Certification Body (PCB) for this certificate. The PCB will issue the certificate if the product or method complies with the rules and standards set by the government, which can be found in regulations made under section 402(1)(u)(i), and any product certification scheme rules made under section 272E(3). You might need a single certificate for a product and method that are used together. The certificate will tell you if there are any special things to consider when using the product or method. It will also tell you what those things are. To get a certificate, you must apply if you own the product or method. Your application must include any information that the registered PCB asks for.
