371D: Offence to impersonate enforcement officer

You could also call this:

“You can get in trouble if you pretend to be someone who checks if buildings are safe.”

If you pretend to be an enforcement officer named in a warrant issued under section 371B(3), you are breaking the law. This means you can’t act like you’re an enforcement officer or lie about being one if you’re not really named in the warrant. If you do this, you’re committing an offence. If you’re found guilty of this offence, you might have to pay a fine. The most you could be fined is $50,000. This law is there to make sure that only real enforcement officers with proper warrants can do their job.
