25: Content of acceptable solution or verification method

You could also call this:

"What an acceptable solution or verification method must include to be valid under the law"

When you look at an acceptable solution or a verification method, it must state the date it comes into force. It must also say if it applies to building work that already has a building consent before the date it comes into force. You need to know it must include this information to be valid.

An acceptable solution or a verification method cannot contain provisions about contractual or commercial requirements. It also cannot have provisions about regulatory approvals or be inconsistent with the Building Act or regulations. This means it has to follow the rules and laws of New Zealand.

An acceptable solution or a verification method can refer to building product specifications. Other material may be incorporated by reference in accordance with sections 405 to 413. This helps you understand what is included in the acceptable solution or verification method.
