30B: How to apply for national multiple-use approval
or “To get approval for using the same building design many times, you need to send a special form with all the right information to the building boss.”

You could also call this:

“Rules for special building designs that need expert approval before they can be used in many places”

When you apply for a national multiple-use approval, and your plans include design work that is restricted building work, there are some rules you need to follow.

The design work must be done or supervised by people who have the right licence to do this kind of work. These people are called licensed building practitioners.

When you send in your plans, you also need to include a certificate of work. This certificate needs to be from the licensed building practitioners who did or supervised the design work. The certificate should say what design work they did.

The certificate also needs to say one of two things. It should either say that the design work follows the building code, or it should say if any parts of the building code need to be changed or if you need permission to not follow some parts. If changes or permissions are needed, the certificate should say what they are.
