Building Act 2004

Regulatory responsibilities and accreditation - Responsibilities relating to product certification - Registration of product certificates

272A: Registration of product certificates

You could also call this:

“Rules for approving and recording official paperwork for building materials and methods”

The chief executive must register a product certificate if they are satisfied with two things. First, the certificate needs to be in the approved form (if there is one) and include any required information. Second, the owner of the building product or method mentioned in the certificate must have paid any required fee.

When the chief executive receives notice that a product certificate has been issued, they need to do two things as soon as possible. They must decide whether to register the certificate. Then, they must tell the registered PCB that issued the certificate and the owner about their decision. If they decide not to register the certificate, they need to explain why.
