Regulatory responsibilities and accreditation - Responsibilities of building consent accreditation body - Accreditation of building consent authorities or regional authorities

250: Accreditation

You could also call this:

“This law explains how people can get permission to check if buildings are safe.”

You can ask the building consent accreditation body to accredit you to do the job of a building consent authority. This means you would be allowed to perform certain tasks under this Part and Part 2 of the law. To apply, you need to follow the steps in section 253. You might also need to pay a fee if one has been set. The accreditation body will look at your application and decide if they will give you accreditation or not.
