Building Act 2004

Regulatory responsibilities and accreditation - Responsibilities of chief executive - Disciplinary powers in relation to complaints

201: Grounds for disciplinary action

You could also call this:

“This explains when someone can get in trouble for not doing their job properly in building and construction.”

You can face disciplinary action if you are a disciplinable entity and any of these things happen:

You don’t do your job properly under this Act without a good reason. This means you’re not fulfilling your responsibilities as you should.

You are careless or negligent when doing your job. This means you’re not being careful enough in your work.

If you’re a registered PCB (Product Certification Body), you don’t follow the rules for product certification schemes. These are special rules you need to follow in your work.

If you’re a registered MCMCB (Modular Component Manufacturer Certification Body), you don’t follow the MCM scheme rules. These are specific rules for your type of work.

Any of these situations can be grounds for disciplinary action against you. This means you might face consequences for not meeting your obligations.
