173: Function of panel
or “A group of experts gives special help to the boss, but not about the boss's job unless asked.”

You could also call this:

“The boss must write a report each year explaining how a special group of helpers did their job.”

You need to know that the chief executive has to include information about how the panel works in the Ministry’s yearly report. This means they have to tell everyone about the panel’s activities each year.

The chief executive must make sure to include some specific details in the report. They need to tell you who is on the panel and how many times the panel got together during the year. They also have to share how much money was paid to the panel members for their work and expenses.

Another important part of the report is a summary of what the panel talked about. The chief executive also has to say whether they followed the panel’s advice on these matters or not.

All of this information helps people understand what the panel does and how it works with the chief executive.
