133C: Obligation to notify regional authority of classifiable or referable dam and change of ownership
or “You must tell your local council about big dams you own and if you sell them to someone else.”

You could also call this:

“Rules for when dam owners must sort their dams into groups”

If you own a dam, you need to classify it in certain situations. You must classify your dam if it’s a classifiable dam. You also need to classify it if it’s a referable dam and the regional authority where the dam is located asks you to do so. When you classify your dam, you need to do it according to section 134B. This helps make sure that dams are properly categorised for safety reasons.
