Building Act 2004

Regulatory responsibilities and accreditation - Responsibilities of chief executive - Functions, duties, and powers of chief executive generally

175: Chief executive may publish guidance information

You could also call this:

"The boss of the department can share helpful information to make the law easier for you to understand."

The chief executive can publish information to help you understand the law. This information is for people who make or import building products, or sell them. It is also for people like territorial authorities, disciplinable entities, owners, and people who do building work.

The chief executive can publish information to help regional authorities, dam owners, and licensed building practitioners do their jobs. They can also publish information to help owners of buildings and the public understand certain parts of the law, like subpart 6A or subpart 6B.

If the chief executive publishes information, it is only a guide and you must still think about the specifics of your situation. You cannot just follow the guide and ignore other important things you need to consider.
