Building Act 2004

Building - Building code - Acceptable solution or verification method

25B: Building product specifications for use in complying with acceptable solutions or verification methods

You could also call this:

"Rules for building products to keep people safe"

The chief executive can issue building product specifications by notice, and these specifications can be used when following acceptable solutions or verification methods. You can think of building product specifications as a set of rules that explain how building products should be made, tested, and used. The chief executive can change or cancel these specifications at any time, and if they do, some parts of the law, such as sections 29, 30, and 409, may not apply when updating acceptable solutions or verification methods to refer to the new specifications.
