“Rules for choosing people to be on a special group that helps make decisions”

When the Minister wants to appoint someone to the Board, they need to make sure the person is right for the job. The Minister looks at what the Board does and chooses someone who knows a lot about those things or has experience in that area.

The Minister can ask people to suggest names for Board members. But remember, when someone becomes a Board member, their job is to do what Board members need to do, not to speak up for any particular group.

One of the Board members must be a lawyer who has been working for at least five years.
