267A: Registration of product certification body
or “The boss can sign up special companies to check and approve building products if they meet certain rules.”

You could also call this:

“The government can check if a registered product certification body is still following the rules and doing a good job.”

The chief executive can check up on a registered product certification body (PCB) to make sure they’re still doing a good job. This check-up is called an audit. The chief executive will look at two things during the audit:

First, they’ll see if the PCB still meets all the rules for being registered. These rules are listed in section 267A.

Second, they’ll check if there are any reasons why the PCB’s registration should be stopped or taken away. The reasons for this are found in section 267C.

This special audit is extra and doesn’t replace the regular audits that must happen under section 262(1)(a).
