430: Transitional provision for building levy under former Act
or “A rule about paying old building fees that weren't paid on time before the new law started”

You could also call this:

“How the building levy is worked out while new rules are being set up”

During a specific time period, you need to calculate the building levy at a different rate than what is usually stated in the Building Act 2004. This special rate is set out in the Building Industry Authority Levy Order 1995.

The time period when this special rate applies starts when Part 2 of the Building Act 2004 comes into effect. It ends when the government makes a new order that sets a new rate for the building levy.

This rule is in place to help with the change from the old way of calculating the levy to the new way. It makes sure there’s always a clear rate to use, even while the government is working on setting the new rate.
