Building Act 2004

Regulation of building practitioners - Licensing and disciplining of building practitioners - Updates of register

304: Alterations to register

You could also call this:

“The Registrar can fix mistakes or update information in the list of licensed building workers.”

The person in charge of the register (called the Registrar) can change the register at any time. They can do this for two reasons:

  1. If a licensed building practitioner changes their name or any of their other details that are listed in [section 301], the Registrar can update this information in the register.

  2. If the Registrar, or someone they’ve asked to help with the register, makes a mistake, the Registrar can fix it. This could be if they accidentally left something out or put in the wrong information.

The Registrar is allowed to make these changes whenever they need to, to make sure the register is correct and up to date.
