Building Act 2004

Regulatory responsibilities and accreditation - Responsibilities of dam owner accreditation body - Accreditation of dam owners

260: Dam owner accreditation body must notify chief executive of grant and revocation of accreditation

You could also call this:

“The dam experts must tell the boss when they say a dam owner is good or not good anymore.”

When a dam owner gets approved or loses their approval, the group that gives these approvals needs to tell the chief executive about it. They have to do this in the way the chief executive has told them to, and they need to do it within a week of the approval being given or taken away.

After the chief executive hears about this, they have to do something too. If a dam owner just got approved, the chief executive has to add their name to a special list. But if a dam owner’s approval was taken away, the chief executive has to take their name off that list. This list is kept under section 273(1)(c).

This helps keep track of which dam owners are approved and which ones aren’t. It’s important because it lets everyone know who is allowed to own and manage dams.
