You can apply to be accredited as a product certification body. You must pay a fee if one is prescribed. You will be accredited if you can perform functions competently and have the right policies in place. 263Accreditation of product certification body

  1. The product certification accreditation body may, on application, and on payment of the prescribed fee (if any), accredit a person as a product certification body if satisfied that they—

  2. have the ability to perform the functions of a registered PCB competently, impartially, consistently, transparently, and accountably; and
    1. have policies, procedures, and systems in place that—
      1. will result in them performing their functions as required by paragraph (a); and
        1. comply with any requirements prescribed by regulations made under section 402(1)(tb)(ii)(A); and
        2. comply with any other criteria and standards prescribed by regulations made under section 402(1)(tb)(ii)(B); and
          1. comply with any product certification scheme rules made under section 272E(3) that supplement the regulations referred to in paragraphs (b)(ii) and (c).
            1. The application must—

              1. be made in the prescribed manner (if any); and
                1. include the prescribed information (if any).
